Why we built the company around the hard jobs
Rooftick started with a second-hand truck, a forty-foot ladder and a founder who had spent nine years working for other people’s roofing companies and disliked most of what he saw.
Twenty-seven years later the trucks have multiplied, but the rule has not moved. Every crew that works under this name is in-house. No day labour, no rotating subcontractors, nobody on your property we have not trained ourselves and cannot vouch for by name.
How the company actually grew
A second-hand pickup, one foreman and a founder who answered the phone himself. Residential repairs only, and never more work than we could stand behind.
Three hundred damaged roofs in one county and denied claims taught us that documentation is half the job.
Our first occupied-building phase job. We learned to work around tenants, which is now a third of our business.
Bigger, slower to hire, and still refusing to subcontract. The growth ceiling is deliberate and we are fine with it.
Three rules we will lose a job over

Every hand on your roof is trained, badged and insured under our name. It is slower to scale and more expensive to run. We have turned down work rather than break it.

We inspect before we estimate and state the decking contingency in writing. If we misjudge the deck, that is our error to absorb, not your change order.

Roughly one in nine inspections ends with us telling the homeowner their roof has years left. It costs us the job and buys us the next one.
Who actually turns up
Twelve crews, forty-one people, and a hiring process most applicants describe as slower than they expected.

Twelve crews, each led by a foreman with a minimum of eight years on roofs.

Four estimators who climb every roof they quote. None of them work on commission.

Two specialists who do nothing but insurance documentation and adjuster meetings.

Six apprentices on a three-year programme, paired with a senior foreman before they are ever left on a roof alone.
Frequently Asked Questions
Most homes are dried in on day one and finished within three. Weather is the only real variable, and we will not open a roof we cannot close again the same day.
If the damage is storm or hail related, usually yes. We document the roof the way an adjuster needs to see it, file alongside you, and meet the adjuster on the roof so nothing gets quietly trimmed from the scope.
Every estimate states a decking allowance up front, so rotten sheathing is priced before we start rather than discovered afterwards. We photograph every board we replace and only charge for what is actually swapped.
Yes. Twelve months interest-free for deductibles and smaller repairs, or terms up to twelve years for full replacements. Approved storm claims usually mean you pay the deductible only and we invoice your insurer directly.
Two warranties, both registered before we leave. The manufacturer covers the materials, and our own workmanship warranty covers the installation itself — including flashing, penetrations and the ventilation work.
About a third of our work is commercial or multi-family, most of it over occupied buildings. Flat and low-slope membrane, standing-seam metal, phased scheduling and night work where tenants cannot be disturbed.
